Recognized internationally as "America's Scrappy Storyteller" (AR Post) for XR technologies in live performance and founding The Integrative Technology Lab at New York University, the native North Carolinian began performing and producing theater as a teenager and has grown into a multi-award winning creator with over 100 IMDb film and television credits and over 50 million online views. Most notably, he was the "face" of Staples for three years as their international spokesperson in over 50 commercials.His first series called 'Squatters', was picked up as Daily Motion's first original comedy, won dozens of awards and coined "the best indie comedy on the web" by Tubefilter News. Brendan continued Squatters as a comedy podcast with his co-star, Erik Scott Smith, on the Toad Hop Network, broadcast from The Jon Lovitz Theater for several years. He cold called tourism boards to sponsor his first feature film, integrating international brands into his original romantic comedy. He built a spaceship in his apartment and virtual reality to launch an original sci-fi series with Legendary Digital at Comic Con. And he taught himself 3D Animation and DIY motion capture for his upcoming adaptation of Macbeth, A Tale Told By An Idiot.During the pandemic, Brendan pivoted to identify and promote open source tools in VR, AR, and XR to combine new technologies for live performers stuck at home. During the shut down, he has successfully performed live using streaming video, AR filters, VR avatars, and performance capture. As part of the virtual theater movement, he developed a free, virtual reality theater called #FutureStages which he used to personally consult and perform internationally, including for The Museum of Science Boston, Actors Theater of Louisville, TRU Producers, Baltic House International, Ithaca College, Purchase College, Southern Mississippi University, and No Proscenium's HERE Festival.Above all, Brendan believes in giving back, whether volunteer teaching low-income youth or establishing his own Lab at New York University....
