About Daniella Smith
Daniella Smith is a Sound Recordist, Boom Operator, and Sound Trainee located in England.Starting her life in other areas of study and work, she eventually attended University to undergo a practical Film Production course, leaving early to work her way up in the industry, and gain a more hands on knowledge, which proved to be much more beneficial, attending the Floor Runners Bootcamp run by Dan Gibling, and gaining a BECTU health and safety passport. Working as a Runner/Driver, as Technical Crew, Assistant Stage Manager, in editing for a charity, and doing a little bit of camera work, she realised sound was more her area, having drummed most of her life as a hobby, and having danced from a young age, having alot of experience with music, it seemed like that was the natural way for her to progress.In 2016, she gained a BAFTA scholarship to attend the National Film and Television School, to study for a 15 month postgraduate diploma in Production Sound for Film and Television, and became the first ever AMPS (Association of Motion Picture Sound) Scholar the same year. Since graduating, she gained a place on the prestigious Sara Putt Associates trainee scheme. Her most notable credit to date, aside from shadowing on 'In the Long Run,' with Idres Alba and Bill Bailey, and 'King Lear,' with Anthony Hopkins and Emma Thompson, is when she recorded the sound for 'The New Crusaders,' a film featuring the talented musicians that are Nat Jenkins, Gus Unger- Hamilton, and Luke Pritchard, in Chinon, France, late 2017. Daniella also considers this to be her most favourite experience to date.Born in May 1989, in the county of Cambridgeshire, she is the mother to one daughter, named Willow....
