Emilio Insolera is an actor and producer known for Sign Gene: The First Deaf Superheroes (2017). Universal Pictures signed Emilio to play the spy film The 355 (2022) by Simon Kinberg alongside Jessica Chastain, Penélope Cruz, Diane Kruger, Lupita Nyong'o, Bingbing Fan, Édgar Ramírez and Sebastian Stan in September 2019.Insolera was born on January 29, 1979, in Buenos Aires, Argentina to Italian deaf parents, Alfio Insolera and Maria Cristina Drovetta and has an older brother, Humberto. Coming from a large deaf family and living aboard between Argentina, Italy and US, he is conversant in Italian, Spanish, English, ASL (American Sign Language), LIS (Italian Sign Language) and LSA (Argentine Sign Language).Emilio is in relationship with Norwegian fashion model Carola Insolera and has two deaf daughters, Ana Insolera and Liv Insolera.::Philippe
Despite being bitten by the acting bug early on and his film studies at Gallaudet University, Insolera spent his youth mostly as an activist by making countless contributions toward the sign language community: at age 20, he was a committee member of the Department of Education at the National Association of the Deaf in Italy, worked as Vice-President of the Italian Deaf Association Youth, as media coordinator for the MPDF and Italian Department of Education on the development of various educational multimedia resources for deaf children, as sign language researcher at the Center for National Research, as producer for Mediaset and RAI, two major Italian Broadcasting TV channels, on the development of short clips and TV shows in sign language.While residing in New York City, he worked as creative producer for MTV: soon after Insolera decided to immerse himself into the film industry with the launch of his own film company, the Pluin, and production of his first long feature film 'Sign Gene: The First Deaf Superheroes'....
