About Emmanuel Kabongo
Kabongo began acting in 2009 and has appeared in feature films including The Animal Project, Pompeii, Antibirth, Brown Girl Begins, Extracurricular, and Run This Town. Emmanuel is one of the leads in the series '21 Thunder' on Netflix. Kabongo has guest starred in series like Star Trek Discovery, V-Wars, Ransom, Rookie Blue, Quantico, Hudson & Rex, Frankie Drake, and Departure.In 2014, Kabongo produced his first short film Agape. In 2015, he completed the actor's conservatory at the Canadian Film Centre in Toronto. Kabongo co-produced the first and second season of the award winning web series Teenagers. For his performance in the second season of Teenagers in 2016, Kabongo received a Canadian Screen Award nomination. In the same year, Kabongo co-produced the short film "A Man's Story" which won the Impact Shorts Award at the 2016 Reelwolrd Film Festival. In 2017 Emmanuel received the Rising Star Award at the AfroGlobal Excellence Award. In 2019, he was awarded the Trailblazer Award at the Reelworld Film Festival.Kabongo was born and raised in the Democratic Republic of Congo and with his family, subsequently relocated to South Africa during the Congolese civil war. They later moved to Toronto, in 1998. After his second year at a community college in Toronto, Emmanuel turned down a basketball scholarship to pursue an acting career....
