About Ernest Rogers Sr.
Ernest, also known as Scooby or Scoobyrogers, caught the acting bug in 1997 when the local news announced how to be an Extra in a movie. "Show up tomorrow morning at the local baseball field and be a Buzz Fan" , they said. So he did. The movie, Major League 3: Back to the Minors. This is where he was able to see the behind the scenes of how a movie is made. This is also where he met one of his favorite actors, Scott Bakula. He spoke with Bakula and got his autograph on an old movie ticket stub. The love for movies grew from there forward.Due to family and work life, several years passed by before Scooby was able to submit for more extra work. Things seem to work out in his favor from 2005-2010. He submitted for work on Talledega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby, at this time he seen the potential to work as an extra and have the chance to get up close and personal with the movies actors. Within this time frame he also landed a speaking role in the independent film Dollar Girl, including a few more movie roles as an extra/background.Only after seeing himself on film did he realize how much weight he had gained. His father, a Marine and then Retired from the Air Force National Guard, was diagnosed with Stage 4 Terminal Lung Cancer. Scooby made a promise to his father to lose his weight and reenter the military, (scooby served 4 years of Active Duty Air Force previously 1992-1996). After making his dad the promise, he lost 80 Lbs in 2 months and started the process to enter the Air Force National Guard. December of 2013 his father passed away, 1 month later scooby kept his promise and took his oath to join the Air Force National Guard, which ended a 17 1/2 break in service.Since then, life has changed in many ways. Moving to the Beach in South Carolina. Losing the life of 2 of his biggest supporters which were his Brother in February 2015 in a fatal hit and run car wreck and his mother in December of 2015 to a heart attack. The positive outlook Scooby has in life after so much tragedy is truly astonishing.A father of 2 boys, and 3 step-daughters he continues to be a mentor, teacher, a friend and a positive role model with everyone he meets. Wanting to pursue a higher education his interests are being a motivational speaker, and continuing his submissions for extra and background work, in hopes to one day get a speaking role in a major motion picture. In his spare time he enjoys entertaining children with his personal and recreational voice over acting skills of many big names like Mickey Mouse, Goofy and Scooby Doo to name a few. He also enjoys serving his Country, watching movies and relaxing at the beach....
