About Fiona Fu
Fiona Fu is a prolific award-winning television host, director and producer, with over 15 years of experience in network broadcast both in China and Canada. She made her debut as an actor playing Weiran Xie in the television drama series Blood and Water (OMNI TV, 2015). This role brought her a Leo Awards nomination for Best Supporting Actress (2016). She subsequently been cast in a variety of productions including the feature film Power Rangers (2016), TV series The Man in the High Castle (2015), Minority Report (2015) and Second Chance (2016).Fiona was born in China and grew up in an intellectual family that encouraged her literary and artistic talents. Fiona went on to achieve an undergraduate education in Chinese language and literature, and received graduate training in directing and producing as well as journalism. She started her career as a regional television news anchor in China and quickly ascended the ranks to national assignments at CCTV. She also has worked as a host and director at China Central Television, the largest television network in Asia. Throughout her career in Asia television, she worked in various capacities including news anchor, host, director, producer, newsroom editor and associate editor-in-chief.Upon her immigration to Canada, from where she now resides as a Canadian citizen, Fiona has expanded her experience and accomplishments into new areas, beginning with her MBA degree with honors from Lawrence Technology University. She has also gained further Western Media experience as media director for a US-based music production company. And presently, Fiona serves as producer, scriptwriter and presenter for a number of multilingual and multicultural broadcasters in Canada as she pursues her main creative interests in feature films and television dramas. With over 27 media awards to her credit, her future goals include a desire to be the first Chinese-Canadian female immigrant to direct a major feature film....
