Beginning his career in theatre, Francis has played 4 seasons of Shakespeare at Maynardville open air theatre in Cape Town.He first came to international attention in the 2010 Bollywood action film Crook: It's Good to Be Bad where he played the lead antagonist opposite Emraan HashmiFrancis appears as Jack Cleary in fellow South African and Academy Award Winner Gavin Hood's thriller Eye in the Sky, opposite Alan Rickman, Helen Mirren, Aaron Paul and Iain Glen, which opened Toronto International Film Festival in September 2015. Television includes Netflix/ BBC's The Crown, Amazon's The Widow. Francis will play John Rawlins in the upcoming "Ulysses Grant" mini series on The History Channel.Francis recently appeared in first commercial for Rolls Royce in 40 years, directed by Lena Heady of HBO's Game of Thrones.A keen improviser, Francis is a member of "The Longshots" improvised theatre troupe and performs regularly in Cape Town.
