Jose-Luis Lopez Jr. is an American Actor, Dancer, Singer. Lopez Jr. is best known for his work In the Tony & Grammy award winning Broadway musical 'In The Heights.' Lopez was born In Boston,Ma. to Latin American parents. His father, Jose-Luis Lopez Sr. Is originally from Villalba, Puerto Rico. His mother, Eugenia Tavarez, is from Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Lopez Jr. grew up in between Hollywood, FL and Phoenix, AZ. He has had a life in the arts And entertainment, attending performing art schools since middle school. Lopez received his high school education at Dilliard Center for The Arts in Fort Lauderdale, FL. Under the careful guidance of Hannah Baumgarten (Juilliard Graduate) Jo Matos (Joffrey Ballet) & Diego Salterini (Co-Director of Dance Now! Miami. Lopez Jr. received a dance merit scholarship to attend The Boston Conservatory of Music. Lopez Jr. attended The BOCO for two years before transferring to The New World School of the Arts in Miami. Once again on a dance scholarship. In winter of 2008, after attending an open call in Miami. Lopez Jr.landed his first Broadway show with 'In The Heights'. He later would originate the role of Graffiti Pete in the 1st National Tour of Heights. Lopez Jr. made his return to the great white way in the Tony Nominated hit 'On Your Feet: The Story of Gloria & Emilio Estefan'. He later would join the 1st National Tour of OYF In a 6 week contractual run. Lopez has also been seen in the downtown smash Off-Broadway show, Fuerza Bruta (NYC, &Tour) . Summer 2020, Lopez Jr. will appear in the Jon Chu directed & Christopher Scott choreographed much anticipated film adaptation of In The Heights. Lopez is very grateful for the beautiful opportunities that he has been given on the journey thus far. As of December 2019, Lopez Jr. resides in New York City....
