About Judy McMillan
Born and raised on Long Island, Judy has been based in central Texas since 1982. Known for her work in the Sweetwater Post Office as Marla Haskin in HBO's SxSWestworld, for playing opposite Barry Corbin in An American in Texas, for being one of the flirts in Jimmy John's Old Coot commercial (that ran for 8 years nationally), and for Grammy winner Rick Trevino's music video Separate Ways, Judy is still going strong! She will soon be seen in a new music video for Paul Cauthen, is representing Kelsey Seybold's Kelsey Care Advantage in Houston, and has two features and a short in post production, one of which was sneak previewed in Cannes during (but not part of) the 2021 festival.With a BA from Colorado State University in Speech and Theatre Arts and three years of study as a Theatre Arts Performance major at Hofstra University, Judy is proud to say she worked with greats like Joe Morton, Peter Friedman, and Zane Buzby as an undergraduate. At Hofstra, she studied with the brilliant Miriam Tulin, who also directed her in a production of Rashomon, that was performed at The Mall Theatre In Washington DC. She has since studied film and/or commercial acting with Texas' Mona Lee Fultz, Gary Chason, Sally Allen, Toni Cobb Brock, Donise Hardy, and Tony Sears, and LA's Barbara and Karen Divisek and Ray Bengston.Judy is a strong, self-reliant woman of a certain age who has been told she's a cross between Mary Tyler Moore and Judi Dench (though these days she's also being referred to as a "Betty White type). Described as "sweet with a twist," she often plays that strong, spunky, sassy, singular, and sometimes scary friend or family member with a secret, and is fondly called Texas' Dame Judy by some she's worked with. When she's not appearing in films, on television, in commercials, or interactive experiences, Judy can be found using her soothing and expressive voice to do voice over work, dancing, working out, hanging with family, traveling to the mountains and/or beaches she loves, or cooking up plans for how she's going to win that Academy Award on her bucket list....
