About Leigh Hennessy
Leigh was raised in the heart of Cajun Country in a very active family who loved sports of all kinds. Her father, Jeff Hennessy, was the US National Trampoline coach from 1964-1980 while teaching at the University of Southwestern Louisiana, now the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. He has coached more World Trampoline Champions than any coach in the country. In due time, Leigh became one of them.Leigh's love of trampoline took her all over the world representing the United States in countless international competitions, winning titles in both national and international competitions during her career. She competed in individual trampoline, synchronized trampoline, and double mini-trampoline, winning two world titles. After receiving a Master's degree at UL and working on Capitol Hill as a staffer for Congressman James A. Hayes (D-LA), Leigh eventually translated her athletic career into a film career as a stunt woman and actress. Her first feature film was Bad Boys Bad Boys (1995) where she doubled Tea Leoni diving out of a speeding car. Her big break came when she doubled Demi Moore in G.I. Jane G.I. Jane (1997) throughout the film doing an array of military-style stunts, as well as fight scenes with Viggo Mortensen. She also had to shave her head to match Moore's.In both Charlie's Angels (Charlie's Angels Charlie's Angels (2000) and Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle (2003) ) movies, Leigh doubled Lucy Liu, performing one of the highest falls for women in the business -- over 90 feet. In the first Charlie's Angels Charlie's Angels (2000) movie, she was part of the trio of extraordinary stunt women who performed the historic fall together. In 2007, Leigh was nominated for a World Stunt Award for her work in the opening scenes as a drowning victim in The Guardian The Guardian (2006) with Kevin Costner. More recently, she has transitioned into stunt coordinating. In recent years, Leigh has added publishing to her resume. Her first book was a labor of love on behalf of brother, Jefferson Hennessy, who passed away in 2016 before he could finish his first book. As a tribute to his legacy, she and her husband, Dr. Mark B. Robson, completed the project, The Day of the Cajundome Megashelter, about the extraordinary efforts by her home town, Lafayette, Louisiana, to house thousands of evacuees who became homeless after Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. Her second book was written with Lt. General Russel Honore and her husband, called Don't Get Stuck on Stupid. The publisher for both books is Acadian House Publishing in Lafayette, Louisiana....
