About Lesa Wilson
Lesa started her career in high school where she participated in a collaborative educational effort between her high school and the local trade school in her home town. She studied Radio and Television broadcasting, which ended up opening the door for her to work as a radio DJ her junior year and then as a production assistant and teleprompter operator her senior year. She learned so much about the behind the scenes work, but her natural talent was being on camera. So, within a year, she left the broadcasting industry to pursue on-camera opportunities.For the five years that followed, she traveled as a model and then ended up on American Idol (semi-finalist) and then won Miss GA USA (2006) and got 2nd Runner up at Miss USA.In June of 2006, Wilson moved to Atlanta and started working as an actress. Almost immediately after the move, she booked a part in a short film called "Belles." It was a story about 4 southern girls who were living their best lives and it focused on their friendships. She played the part of 'Caitlyn;' the bubbly, always positive, annoyingly happy friend. It was her first real experience working with a cast of actors and it was the project that landed her my first Atlanta agent. After that, the rest was history.Wilson is very passionate about Environmentalism. She's a notable member of the Plastic Pollution Coalition and loves and promote core environmental values, such as clean air to breathe, clean water to drink, and clean energy to power our lives. Wilson has her own segment on YouTube, 'Going Green,' where she promotes what people can do on an individual level to help save the environment.Wilson loves spending as much time as possible with her family, reading and learning, thrift shopping, and learning piano in her free time.Raised in Rome, Georgia, Lesa is the second oldest of four children and she resides in Atlanta....
