Kirke was born in London, and raised in New York City from the age of five. Her father, Simon Kirke, is the former drummer of the rock bands Bad Company and Free. Her mother, Lorraine (née Dellal) Kirke, owns Geminola, a vintage boutique in New York City that supplied a number of outfits for the television series Sex and the City (1998).Her father is of English and Scottish descent. Her maternal grandfather, Jack Dellal, was a British businessman of Iraqi Jewish descent, and Kirke's maternal grandmother was Israeli. Kirke has two sisters, Jemima Kirke and Domino Kirke. Currently, Kirke appears in the original Amazon series Mozart in the Jungle, as the lead female star Hailey. In January 2016, Mozart in the Jungle won a Golden Globe award for Best Television Series - Comedy or Musical. The series was nominated for another Golden Globe award the following year. The fourth season of Mozart in the Jungle will premiere on February 16, 2018. Next Kirke, will appear in the Los Angeles-set thriller written and directed by Aaron Katz, titled Gemini. Kirke stars in the film opposite Zoe Kravitz and John Cho. The film will be released in Spring 2018. Kirke stars in Untogether alongside Ben Mendelsohn, Jemima Kirke, and Jamie Dornan. On September 30, 2016, Kirke debuted her self- titled EP and subsequently embarked on an 8-stop tour between New York and Los Angeles. Her first full length LP will be released in Spring 2018. Kirke's other film credits include: Another Happy Day, Reaching for the Moon, American Made, Fallen, Active Adults, AWOL, Free the Nipple, Mistress America, and Gone Girl.
