About Matthew Michaelson
Matthew Michaelson was born in Chelmsford as Matthew Russell and grew up in Tiptree, Essex. He always knew he was going to start a career in acting. Aged 16 he went to Colchester Institute to study a 2 year course in acting. Aged 18 he moved to Bath to study for 3 years at Bath Spa University in a BA Hons Acting course.His early acting experiences from University were mainly in theatre. He Performed Shakespeare's 'Measure for Measure' in the black box at the Greenwich theatre in collaboration with Lazarus Theatre Company, directed by Ricky Dukes. Matthew also took on other Shakespeare roles such as the infamous 'King Lear'. He also enjoyed performing in other plays such as Anton Chekhov's 'The Seagull', Oscar Wilde's 'The Importance of Being Earnest' and Sam Shepard's 'True West'.After graduating; Matthew grabbed every opportunity he could, performing at the Pleasance Theatre in a showcase of short theatrical scripts. He performed at the centre of Covent Garden on an interactive theatre performance for children, 'The Dream Garden', with Boo Productions. And even at the top of a London sky scraper for a corporate job, acting as a green soldier from 'Toy Story'.At the beginning of 2019, Matthew signed up to partake in a firearms course. This Firearms course was ran by Bare Arms Military Support to Film and TV. There he learnt the basics of firearm safety on set. This began his love of film and TV acting.Matthew joined Elaine Eaglestone at Eaglestone Management in the summer of 2019. His first agent, and first proper taste of the industry.Matthew also joined the Film Actors Academy run by Paul J. Lane in December 2019; his acting style transformed from "theatrical" to "TV/Film" in a few months. He knew this was the style of acting he loved.His first feature was a walk on for the Bollywood production of '83' where he played a Skinhead Gang member.September 2020 he was the executive producer and stared in his first own short film 'Metal' - A war film about decision making and sacrifice. He worked with Dan Hugo and Darren James King in bringing this short film to life.October 2020 he started work on 'Web Crawler' written and directed by Paul J. Lane and Tony Fadil. His character - DCI Steve Stacey, was the opportunity Matthew was waiting for to use his skills and show what he can do in front of a camera....
