About Maxwele D'Angelo
A Native of Minas Gerais, Brazil, 'Maxwele DAngelo grew up in Boston, Massachusetts where he dreamed of becoming an actor. An actor with the passion and intensity of Al Pacino and the playfulness and comedic timing of Robin Williams. His first role was portraying Nathan Detroit in a Middle School production of Guys and Dolls. "He was amazing!" said critics, his mom.His passion for acting landed him in New York City where he received his BFA at The Juilliard School. While at Juilliard, he played multiple roles including but not limited to: George Murchinson in A Raisin in the Sun, Tom Moody in Odets, The Golden Boy, Antiochus in Shakespeare's Pericles, and Tybalt, Balthazar and the Nurse in Shakespeare's R & J. While at Juilliard, he discovered his philanthropic side and became involved with ASTEP (Artist Striving to End poverty), where he taught drama to middle and high school students in Homestead, Florida. After graduating from Juilliard, Maxwele was commissioned to write a play about Martin Luther King Jr. entitled: MLK History, for the Eugene O'Neil Theatre in Costa Rica. While there, he immersed himself in the culture and taught acting workshops at the University of Costa Rica. As a teaching artist, he not only taught, he learned from the Costa Rican People what their slogan "Pura Vida" really means.Shortly after making the big move to Hollywood, Maxwele landed his first Co-star role in the Pilot Episode of Rizzoli and Isles. Maxwele has been steadily working and can be seen on numerous TV show and commercials, from his recent appearances on ABC's The Goldbergs, Wicked City, Grey's Anatomy and the Netflix original series Grace and Frankie. He continues to dedicate himself to his craft and is determined to one day be the first Brazilian Oscar winner in the acting category.Maxwele continues to give back to the community by expanding his philanthropic and teaching endeavors as a member of the not-for-profit company, Shakespeare and Friends. This acting company makes Shakespeare accessible to low-income middle and high school students throughout greater Los Angeles.
