About Megan Jay

Megan Jay is an American actress, who discovered her love of the arts at the young age of three. Her parents enrolled her in dance classes when she was a toddler. Dancing quickly became Megan's first love, and her original exposure to performance. She continued to study all genres of dance throughout her school years, for a total of 15 years learning and developing as an artist. During her time dancing, she was able to study all over the country with world famous choreographers and companies, and received many scholarships to summer intensives hosted by major companies. Around 2013, Megan suffered an injury which ended her career as a pre-professional dancer. Due to her injury, Megan desperately needed to find a new creative outlet...she stumbled across a Film/TV acting class hosted in San Bruno, CA at SF Actors Workshop. She immediately discovered how large of a part performance was in her life, and how passionate she was about acting.Studying under Giovannie Espiritu, Megan established an incredible foundation as an actress, she became very focused and disciplined towards her craft, she always attacks her work with complete abandon. Megan loves taking every role from the page to reality, experiencing everything and developing with her characters. During her first months of training, Megan landed the lead role in a small independent feature film after auditioning with 50 other girls. She thrived while working on the film set, and came out with an even stronger understanding of what it takes to be an actor....she loved it, and immediately wanted to be back on a set. Throughout the next couple years, Megan booked some lead and supporting roles on a few TV series.Megan also studied Meisner technique extensively under Burgess Jenkins, who has helped her master the art of active listening and helped her be able to connect on an extremely deep level with her fellow actors. After years of studying under him, she made the move to Los Angeles to further her education at the highly regarded and esteemed American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Hollywood, CA. As part of their distinguished program Megan studied voice and speech, vocal production, acting styles, film/television techniques, script analysis, physical acting/movement, and improvisation under revolutionary instructors.Due to her father's occupation, Megan has been able to live all over the world. She was born in the suburbs of Chicago, she has lived in Florida, Texas, California, Germany, Illinois again, North Carolina, Los Angeles, and her current residence is in Pennsylvania. Moving so often has helped Megan learn to adapt easily to every new environment. Being able to travel all over the world, has exposed Megan to many different experiences that have shaped her into a very mature and worldly young woman. She absolutely loves the traveling she has been fortunate enough to do so far, and looks forward to many more adventures....
