About Neelam Verma
Neelam Verma was born in Montreal, Canada to parents who immigrated from India in the 1970s. She graduated from a prestigious Canadian Business school in 1998 and worked in brand marketing with Procter & Gamble before setting off on a whirlwind trip around the world. She traveled to twenty-five countries over the next several months, and was discovered as a model in Egypt before returning to Canada.In 2001, she was crowned Miss India Canada, a pageant whose winners have gone on to considerable success in Bollywood. One month later, she bagged the Miss Canada crown, and became the first Indian woman to represent Canada at the Miss Universe Pageant. Neelam was selected over several candidates to become the new Host of the national television program "Bollywood Blvd." In May 2002, Neelam placed in the top ten at the Miss Universe Pageant - a feat only a handful of Canadians before her had accomplished. She worked as a model in Canada, Europe, India and the Middle East, and has been featured in international advertising campaigns including Dove Real Beauty. Neelam trained with CNN International and went onto become the host of a Live Daily talk show in Toronto....
