About Raghuram Shetty
Raghuram Shetty was born in vibrant village of coastal Karnataka, India. He was the 2nd of the 7 children to his parents Umavati and Thimmappa Shetty. Under the guidance of his brother Dr Narayan, he started acting when he was only 8. As 6th grader he performed in one of the world's most advanced Improv and Dance-Drama Performing Art "Yakshagana". In spite of heavy costume, he shocked seasoned actors with series of rigorous dancing and rich impromptu dialogues as show ran all night!His passion to win in each and every activities in school, helped him open new pages in history book. He won "Best Outgoing Student" awards in every school he went and was coronated "champion of all championships" in all 4 years of his Engineering college days. With national level achievements in multitude of diverse activities while helping his mother in farming, he developed natural acting skills. Through deep research and observation, he learnt many rich, vibrant and diverse ancient folk performing arts and the rich ancient sciences behind them. He learnt and taught Indian marshal arts "kalari" (basis for Kung-Fu/karate) during his college days. Since designing high-tech product for ISRO (NASA of India)in 1987, he excelled as IT Executive in many Blue-chip corporations and continued to retain "rare all-rounder" title! He wrote /directed /showcased and performed in very unique showcases in major cities across India. He bagged several awards for his acting, plays and Stand-up comedy.After moving to US in 1994, he founded "Yakshaloka USA". Partnering with various international organizations and charities, he trained thousands of kids and adults in Drama and diverse vibrant theatrical arts of India such as Yakshagana, kOla/teyyam, and many more Folk/Classical Arts including Bollywood dancing. With his multi-talented 3 sons and wife, he staged hundreds of diverse showcases in major theaters across USA. With sons winning international acting awards, he decided to pursue his career as an actor in Hollywood. Since 2014, he has featured in lead roles in many short films, international Commercials, TV/Internet/Webseries, PSA, Music Videos and so on.Along with Hollywood Acting, he continues to write, produce and stage his own showcases in major Theaters and big parades. On 27 Sept 2014, dressed in heavy costumes, he reached out to 40,000+ audience of Orange County with 5+ hours of continuous roving entertainment that attracted African drummers and other musicians spontaneously to his procession. IGV announced him as "World #1 as performer of most diverse and vibrant performing arts"....
