In 2006 R.J. Mitte moved to Hollywood, California, with his family to support the foray of his sister, actress Lacianne Carriere, into print and commercial work. For fun, Mitte began training with Los Angeles talent manager Addison K. Witt in Sherman Oaks, Cal. And though many of the actors in the studio were working actors, Mitte was using acting as a means to build friendship with kids his own age while living in a new city. At the encouragement of Witt and talent agent Debra Manners of the Daniel Hoff Agency, Mitte began auditioning for commercials and TV shows like Grey's Anatomy (2005). Mitte tried his hand at background roles and became a regular student on the popular Disney show Hannah Montana (2006), later being romantically linked to the show's iconic star, Miley Cyrus.Mitte was cast as Walt White Jr., a series regular, and character with cerebral palsy on AMC Network's Breaking Bad (2008). And though Mitte has a mild case of the same condition, he had to do what all actors do: research the character and even relearn many of the challenges he had endured as a child in order to convey a more pronounced version of CP. Best known as Walter "Flynn" White Jr for five riveting seasons of AMC's Emmy and Golden Globe Award-winning dramatic thriller "Breaking Bad," Mitte, reemerged this year on the big screen in "Dixieland," which premiered at the 2015 Tribeca Film Festival, portraying the deceptive CJ, in his first non-handicapped leading role. With his image appearing on mediums such as billboards, buses, and life-sized posters in cities across the world from Tokyo to Dubai and across the US, he has cemented himself as a face to know in the fashion world. In 2015 he was found walking in Men's Fashion Week in Milan, Berlin and New York City for Vivienne Westwood, soPopular, Julian Zigerli and Ovadia & Sons. After RJ's appearance in the Vivienne Westwood show with a black and white breast place for Milan fashion week, the entire fashion and entertainment industry went mad for RJ. He was called by Dazed and Confused Magazine, "an overnight Fashion sensation."During its fifth and final season, the "Breaking Bad" premiere drew approximately 5.9 million viewers, a number that nearly doubled to 10.3 million by the season's final episode. As Walt Jr.,also referred to by fans as "The Breakfast King," Mitte acted as the Cerebral Palsy-afflicted son of Walter (Bryan Cranston) and Skyler (Anna Gunn). As Walter continued his descent into drug manufacturing and trade, Walt Jr. finds himself torn between his father's deceit, his mother's protectiveness, and his own developing sense of independence.
