About Robert Loftin


Robert started his performing career in 1977 as a Marriott's Great American Singer in 1977. Moving to San Francisco he performed in the "Irving Berlin in Review" on Broadway at the Chi Chi Club. After performing in two more Productions, "Grand Illusion" and "Everybody's Favorite City" he received his Actors Equity Card in a revival of the off Broadway hit "Boy Meets Boy". While still in San Francisco he received his SAG card acting in a General Electric Commercial. Moving to Los Angeles he immediately secured work dancing in a Minute Maid Commercial and his first Production of "George M!" at the Sebastian's Dinner Theatre in San Diego. Robert then landed a part in a production of the show "Barbary Coast" at the Fox Theater in Detroit with Kay Ballard and Eddie Bracken. Coming back to Los Angeles he continued his career, Performing in many regional musicals (Partial list) such as "Sugar", "42nd St", "South Pacific", "My Fair Lady" and commercials for the likes of Michelob, Coke, Pop Tarts, McDonald's and T.V. shows such as "The Bold and the Beautiful" and "Jake and the Fat Man" and "The Music of Your Life". Robert then landed his first Broadway Show, "Mail" which started at the famed Pasadena Playhouse before moving to the Kennedy Center in Washington and finally the Music Box Theater on Broadway. While in New York he also toured with an Industrial stage show for McDonald's. When he returned to Los Angeles his first job back was in Andy William's Act which toured in the Mid West as well as playing Reno and Atlantic City. Back in Los Angeles he began work on the National tour of "The Unsinkable Molly Brown" staring none other Than Debbie Reynolds and Harve Presnell as Molly's brother. Robert then began a run at Long Beach CLO in shows such as "Chicago", "South Pacific", "Pal Joey" and" Hello Dolly". Bob's second Broadway show was "Ragtime" which he opened in the Los Angeles production before performing it in Vancouver Canada and finally as a replacement on Broadway. Mr. Loftin was seen with his own daughter in a commercial for Allstate Insurance. He danced in Bjork's MTV video of the year "Oh So Quiet". He returned to the Pasadena Playhouse as Al Jolson in "Twist". Recently seen in a Los Angeles production as Bobby in "Too Old For The Chorus". Co-Starred in "Extant on CBS. Danced in the Cohen brothers Movie "The Man Who Wasn't There". Recently he starred as the Janitor who dreams of dancing on "Dancing With The Stars" for Swiffer and is playing Dick Cheney's Doctor/Surgeon in the upcoming film directed by Adam McKay staring Amy Adams and Christian Bale. Robert is Represented by the Carrie Macy Talent Agency in Beverly Hills....
