About Shah Granville
Shah was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. From this small town on the east side of LA, her gifts in science research and theatre arts led her to UCLA where she worked on her BA by day and studied the craft of acting nightly. While training in a rigorous two-year Meisner Program, she served as a weekly producer for the playwright development program called The Living Room Series at The Blank Theatre and went on to Associate Produce award winning plays A Singular They ( Aliza Goldstein) and The Tragedy of JFK as Told by William Shakespeare (Julius Caesar reimaged by Daniel Henning). After her foundational training, vocal development with Denise Woods and a rigorous audition process, Granville was invited to study at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London, where she gained her acting certificate under the tutelage Nona Sheppard. Her work in this program and with Denise woods was explored in part in The Power of Voice by Denise Woods (HarperOne). Shah finds purpose in telling stories that impact and transform the actor, bringing voice to lives that are traditionally unlived, unloved or unknown through the power of imagination and empathy. A lifelong Shakespearean, Shah's stage credits include the titular roles in King Lear (GBS Theatre London) and Titus Andronicus (Shakespeare on the Deck), King Duncan (Macbeth, Tomorrow Theater). Granville's film performances include leading roles in Dark Arrows, DASH, and the beautiful story of Epiphany. When off duty, Shah advocates for literacy and education for women and girls through access to proper hygiene and supports the good work of AfriPads and Downtown Women's Center in her home town of Los Angeles....
