About Simon Jon Provan
Winner: 2019 Salty Earth Film Festival Best Actor, Short Film Simon is a Milwaukee based actor who has performed on-stage, on-camera, and on-the-mic. A member of Actor's Equity Association and SAG-eligible, Simon has been performing professionally since 1999. Along with performing, Simon is also the head of performance studies at Wisconsin Lutheran College in Milwaukee, WI, where he also directs one to two shows each year.His work on stage includes roles with In Tandem Theatre (Milwaukee, WI), Illinois Shakespeare Festival, Montana Shakespeare in the Parks, New American Theatre (Rockford, IL), American Players Theatre (Spring Green, WI), Milwaukee Repertory Theatre, Theatre X (Milwaukee, WI), First Stage Children's Theatre (Milwaukee, WI), and others.His camera work includes everything from feature films (most recently "The AUTHOR, THE STAR, AND THE KEEPER," in the lead role of August Star, produced by Salty Earth Pictures), to commercials and industrials (see his resume on IMDB for his extensive experience in these two mediums). He is also a voice-over artist, having been heard on numerous instructional, business-to-business, and commercial spots (you can many of his voice-over credits on IMDB). He is also the voice for Bernie in the puppet web series "Bernie Frankly."As a father of two daughter's and a happily married man, Simon's work tends to focus on stories that are "bigger than us," yet have a sense of reality to them. As such, Simon is not afraid to jump into roles that have a darker side to them in order that a story may be fully and realistically told.Simon holds an MFA in Acting from the University of Texas-Austin, where he also performed in many student films; and a B.A. in Theatre from the University of Wisconsin-Parkside....
