About Tom Foran
Tom was raised in a Hollywood family. His parents actually met on a movie set. His father, Dick Foran, was an actor in the "golden age" and was touted as the first singing cowboy. He has a star on the Walk of Fame. Susanne Rosser, his mother, was discovered at the Earl Carroll Theatre ("Through These Portals...") and worked in many productions including most of the Crosby/Hope Road movies. Sadly, Dick passed away when Tom was ten, and cancer took his mother while he was completing his senior year at USC.Having no other family and fresh out of college, Tom was forced to find his way in the world. With his fledgling acting career not paying the bills, he had to make speedy, monumental life choices. Having always ridden horses, young Foran decided to pursue a career in horse training. This proved a good decision as he's now recognized as a top international rider having won World Championships as well as being a medalist. His most recent title came in November 2019: AQHA Reining Reserve World Champion.Serendipity has smiled on Tom. After several years in the equestrian world, Hollywood came knocking. "A List" industry folk began working out of his training barn. His love of filmmaking was rekindled, and he began writing screenplays. Soon he was working as an advisor to Taylor Sheridan on Seasons 1 and 2 of YELLOWSTONE as well as acting in the show. Moreover, he helped break story and worked with Sheridan on daily rough cuts. Shortly thereafter, Tom was with Sheridan again on THOSE WHO WISH ME DEAD, and they are expected to work together on a remake of a classic Western.Tom's screenplays are drawn from his Americana experience. They have done very well on the festival circuit having won several as well as earning him a fellowship with Broken Road Productions that has a first look at Paramount. His stories are rooted deeply in the equestrian and cowboy worlds.Today, he lives with his wife, Daphne, on their ranch in Santa Clarita, CA. It's there, in the company of the horses they raise, that he finds his inspiration to write....
