About Sada Baby
Sada Baby (real name Casada Aaron Sorrell) was born on November 17, 1992 and grew up in the Regent Park area on Detroit's east side. He started out singing in his church choir as a kid, but rap eventually became his focus. After years of releasing music with limited response, a local rap battle in 2016 changed things — he won the competition, beat out a dozen other artists, and used that momentum to get serious.
His 2017 debut mixtape Skuba Sada put him on the map in Detroit. Around the same time he linked up with Tee Grizzley's Grizzley Gang imprint and dropped D.O.N - Dat One Nigga. The real breakthrough came in early 2018 when the video for "Bloxk Party" — made with Detroit's Drego — caught fire online. That visibility led to him signing with Asylum Records. His Asylum debut, the Bartier Bounty mixtape (2019), was well received and showed a sharper, more consistent Sada Baby.
He parted ways with Grizzley Gang in 2019 to control his own release schedule — something he takes seriously given how frequently he drops music. His debut studio album Skuba Sada 2 arrived in March 2020 and charted at number 125 on the Billboard 200. Later that year, "Whole Lotta Choppas" became a TikTok phenomenon, hitting number 92 on the Hot 100. A Nicki Minaj remix pushed it to number 35, making it his biggest chart placement to date.
